报告人简介：

Dr. Juan Luis Jurat-Fuentes is Associate Professor of Insect Physiology in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at the University of Tennessee.  He holds a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. degree in Genetics from the Universitat de Valencia (Spain), and a PhD in Entomology from the University of Georgia. His research interests are focused on the insect digestive system as a target for insecticidal technologies and as a prospecting resource for new enzymes of industrial interest. He specializes on the mode of action and resistance mechanisms against insecticidal proteins from the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). His research has been funded by USDA, NSF, DOE, and private industry partners, and has been recognized with diverse awards. Dr. Jurat-Fuentes serves as Editor for PLOS ONE and as Editorial Board member for Applied and Environmental Microbiology.
